DigiLocker
DigiLocker is a cloud storage service for documents given by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) through Digital India Corporation (DIC). It authenticates you using your Aadhaar card, and you can preserve your documents digitally and access them at any time.
Assuming you have an internet connection available at the time. These digital documents are treated the same as originals and are recognized by railways, traffic police, and passport services. Now, let us walk you through the process of uploading your documents to DigiLocker:-
DigiLocker can store both issued and uploaded documents. Issued documents are e-documents that are issued directly from the source by government entities to a person. These documents are preserved in the issued documents area as URLs. The user is the one who uploads the documents. These can hold up to 10MB of.pdf,.jpeg, and.png files.
How to Use the Website to Upload Documents to DigiLocker
To begin, go to the DigiLocker website and click on Sign Up in the upper right corner.
You will now be prompted to enter your full name, date of birth, gender, cellphone number, email address, and Aadhaar number. You must also create a 6-digit PIN that will serve as your password. Following that, you must click the Submit button.
Following that, an OTP will be delivered to your registered phone number.
After entering the OTP, click the Submit button.
Following that, you will be prompted to enter a username. After you fill it out, click Submit, and your account is created here.
You will now be taken directly to the DigiLocker homepage.
On the left side of the page, you must click on Uploaded Documents.
You then select Upload.
Choose the file you wish to upload from your computer and then click Open. You can also select several files.
This is now visible in the Uploaded Documents section.
You can also choose the file type for the uploaded file. The Select Doc Type option appears next to the file. When you click on it, a variety of alternatives appears, including an electricity bill, a dependence certificate, an integrated certificate, an identification certificate, and many more.
How to Use the DigiLocker App to Upload Documents
Log in to the DigiLocker app.
Click the burger menu in the upper left corner of the dashboard.
Choose Upload Documents.
Now, above the menu button, click the upload button.
You are now prompted to grant the app access to your files.
You can now select the file or content to upload from other apps.
After selecting the files, you navigate to your phone's storage via the app. From here, locate and choose the file before clicking Upload.
The second app's content launches your phone's default browser.
